I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
