2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Management Change Follows Mixed Reception
The new appointee takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing initial reveal last fall.
Recently, the company's top executive David Ismailer notified team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had revealed the need for a distinct game identity.
Ismailer noted that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a renewed focus, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
A Pattern of Key Recruitment
This announcement mirrors a comparable move taken by the publisher in the summer, when they recruited an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
